3 Factors To Consider When Buying Designer Sunglasses For Women

Sunglasses have been around for centuries and it seems that they will continue being around for a little bit longer. Although, the primary function of glasses is to provide protection against harmful sunlight, women have over the years used them as a fashion statement.

Due to the increased use of the eyewear for fashion and style, many manufacturers have come up with different designs meant to fit the tastes of different people. If you are a woman and you are interested in buying the eyewear, you need to take a number of factors into consideration. Some of the factors that you need to consider include:

Sunlight protection

The most important thing that you should consider is the ability of the glasses to protect you from the harmful ultraviolet rays (UVA). You should note that the level of protection depends on the type of glasses that you have.

To be on the safe side you should always go for sunglasses that have the ability of blocking 70% of UVA and 60% of UVB. If you visit a store that has glasses that can block up to 100% of the harmful rays, you should buy those glasses.

You should also go for sunglasses that are polarized. This is because polarized glasses easily diffuse intense light.

If you are comfortable wearing them, you should buy oversized sunglasses. This is because oversized glasses tend to protect the delicate skin surrounding the eyes thus giving your skin a long life.

Impact protection

Although, women are said to be delicate, you should not buy delicate and fragile pieces of eyewear. The eyewear should be strong enough to protect you against flying debris such as fine dust particles and stone particles.

If you are living in America, you should always go for glasses that have the American National standard institute (ANSI) mark of quality.

Lens colour

Sunglasses come in different colors with grey being the most common. The main reason why grey lenses are popular is because they easily reduce brightness without distorting the color of objects that you are looking at.

Brown and amber lenses also reduce brightness but they greatly distort the colour of objects.

Green lenses on the other hand reduce glare and at the same time filter the harmful blue light. The lenses also provide excellent color contrast between objects.

To be on the safe side you should go for glasses with lenses that easily reduce brightness and at the same time don't distort the color of objects that you are looking at.
